Is it only the water that can treat your acne?
Are you suffering from acne and getting advice such as “Drink water and it’ll go away” People pointing out your acne as if its the most embarrassing thing to carry around, and you're the one willingly doing so.
Acne is common at any age, especially starting in adolescence. Puberty is difficult, and on top of that, acne can make you feel less confident about your appearance and ruin your mood as a teenager. Adults who are pitying you and making you appear more miserable than you actually are will then suddenly start throwing suggestions, tips, and tricks at you. They'll approach you during a family event or program and say, "Ah! What happened to you, you used to be so beautiful? What happened to your skin?” with a sympathetic look on their face, throwing your confidence down the road. In an effort to look better at the party, you may try to cover your face with your hair or a mask, wash your face repeatedly, and pop zits right before the event. However, these actions have the opposite effect and instead leave scars, damaged skin, and uncomfortable irritations. Your flaws become much more obvious when you start looking closely in the mirror, and you are then forced to acknowledge them. carrying the anxiety of having to listen to all of that again, of being pity-filled, fascinated, etc. This can often lead to depression, social anxiety, and social awkwardness.
Acne is simply a skin condition. 90% of the time, those who have it, inherited their skin's susceptibility from their ancestors. As it relates to your health, you should understand the cause of the acne if you DO want to treat it.
What is acne?
Acne, also known as acne vulgaris, is a chronic skin condition that arises when dead skin cells and skin oil block hair follicles. The pores may be clogged for one of approximately five reasons:
Extra tissues/dry dead skin tissues
Plugged pore caused by the extra tissues
Painful and red inflammation
Unfriendly bacteria feeding off the sebum-the oil to lubricate skin
Enlarged pores under the skin
If someone has advised you to wash your face frequently or exfoliate, you should be aware that doing so will dry out your skin because frequent cleaning results in low sebum and clogged pores. So washing and scrubbing won't help treat acne; instead, they'll just make it worse.
What are the root causes of pimples?
The main thing that causes acne is an enlarged gland, which is caused by a clogged pore and also by hormones. When bacteria attack, the body sends white blood cells to combat it, but then the dead white blood cells remain stuck under the skin and clog pores.
acne formation |
There's sebaceous gland underneath human skin producing oil to lubricate the skin- when clogged underneath, can cause acne. The sebaceous gland is highly sensitive to hormones (estrogen and androgen).
Androgen can increase the sebum, the oil, the size of the gland itself, and the extra tissue, so that's really what it's doing. Now, the question is why are you producing too much androgen, right? Going through puberty or whatever, even menopause can do it.
Why do you produce too much hormone?
Number one, you may have a condition called PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), which is the ovary pumping too much androgen. Symptoms are : a) acne
b) hair loss (alopecia)
c) deeper voice
PCOS causes high insulin levels, a condition called insulin resistance. In medical literature, PCOS is associated with insulin, but actually it’s actually CAUSED by insulin. Improving insulin situations makes PCOS go away. Too much insulin stimulates the production of a specific enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT (a powerful form of testosterone ten times stronger than testosterone).
liver |
Number two, there's another condition called fatty liver, which is basically liver with too much fat in it, which is a resisting factor for a protein abbreviated to SHBG. It helps bind the testosterone and estrogen and store them in inactive form in the liver, because you don’t want the hormones floating around in your bloodstream, which can cause a lot of health problems. Acne is one of them. Liver contains a kind of enzyme that takes the testosterone and androgen converts it into estrogen and too much estrogen causes acne. The bloodstream's active testosterone and estrogen are what cause the enlarged pores and clog them.
How to resolve the problem?
As a result of all of the causes and problems stated above, the first solution is to improve one's diet.
Sugar and carbohydrates are a good sources of insulin, by consuming them we’re risking high hormone levels.
Milk, dairy products– as it’s high in hormones– should also be avoided from the diet, for awhile, if the acne is severe.
Veggies should be consumed, especially cruciferous vegetables that are helpful to detoxify the fat in the liver.
Cruciferous vegetables |
Snacking is threatening to the acne.
Green tea is a great remedy for acne problems as it reduces inflammation and sebaceous gland, is antibacterial, and helps with insulin resistance.
You can fast during a period of time to reduce your insulin level, exercise will do the same.
Milk thistle is a great help for liver disorders and gallbladder problems.
Zinc and copper are also helpful. Zinc helps the body absorb more vitamin A. Copper with zinc works great as an antioxidant, clearing oxidations happening under the skin.
Eternal treatment for your skin:
You can get a filter for your shower to filter out fluoride. Fluoride does not directly affect acne but can cause irritation to the skin, which makes acne worse.
The external treatment for acne is DO NOT pop your zits, it makes it worse. Popping them damages the sebaceous gland and makes it easier to be infected by more bacteria.
To treat whiteheads and blackheads, use benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid; niacinamide to treat skin texture; adapalene and tretinoin work better than niacinamide. All of the stated products should be used on a clean face, cleaned with a gentle cleanser, and after using the necessary treatments, one must use moisturizer to hydrate the skin or else it will breakout.
If you are left with acne scars and you want to treat them, there are a lot of ways to treat them, but one of the best is vitamin E oil.
Now you know all the reasons for your acne, and the best possible way to treat it better so you can start the skin care journey if you like to.
